Sessions
Swedish Deep Tissue
Is a full-body massage meant to address muscular tension using a variety of techniques such as effleurage, petrissage, cross-fiber friction, tapotement and long gliding stokes towards the heart with an oil or lotion. Pressure and flow is modified throughout the session and special attention is given to areas of hypertension or fatigue. Swedish massage improves the circulation of blood and lymph. It makes a noticeable improvement in skin tone, hydration, breaks up scar tissue, promotes better sleep and can dramatically improve range of motion.
TMJD Relief
A specialized protocol for relief of temporary mandibular joint disfunction. A fusion of intra-oral trigger point work and craniosacral therapy has been shown to be an effective treatment for TMJD pain. TMJD can be caused by a variety of factors including: disc malalignment, bruxism aka teeth grinding, trauma and injury, discomfort from orthodontic devices like braces, mouth guards or dentures and or related factors such as headaches, ear aches, whiplash, over-use, genetics and referred pain due to other musculature disfunction. In the US alone, TMJD effects over 10 million people.
Tension Specific
Tension specific work is an wonderful option for people who suffer from: acute migraine headaches, muscle spasms, sciatica etc. These sessions are sculpted around your specific needs that day or a chronic issue that you would like to work on together. I can suggest new techniques for self-care at home that you can do yourself with the help of stress reducing meditations, tennis balls, heat/cold packs or stretches in between bodywork appointments.
+Cupping Therapy is an excellent and effective method for promoting direct healing. Cupping uses negative pressure to draw from the deepest fascial layer causing hyperemia also known as an increase in blood to an area. Cupping encourages movement of lymph and oxygen, hydrates and releases heat from the tissue. It's sort of like an inverse massage. It also provides immediate decompression for the sympathetic nervous system. Classical TCM fire cupping and silicone suction cupping available. Same science+different techniques for drawing out sha and bringing you relief from pain.
+Gua Sha is a traditional Chinese medicine healing technique. Like cupping therapy, it also falls under the scope of practice for licensed massage therapists. Gua Sha uses a smooth, round edged tool to firmly stroke or scrape specific areas of tension in the body, breaking up adhesions in the muscles and tendons. In combination with massage it is a versatile and effective technique to treat all kinds of chronic or persistent muscle pain including headaches, neck, shoulder, back and hip pain, plantar fasciitis, IT band syndrome, carpal tunnel, TOS and more. Both gua sha and cupping therapy are indicated for resolving issues related to congestion and stagnation by opening up superficial blood vessels so that the area can drain and fresh circulation can occur. This often reduces pain very quickly.
HEPA air purifiers, meticulous attention to cleanliness and disinfection is given to the space before, during and after each session. I am vaccinated and boosted. I also pay close attention to my own boundaries, honoring my body when I feel symptoms of illness or burn-out. These are just a few of the many ways in which I hope to reassure the safety and well-being of our community.
Prices : $140 for 60 minutes / $200 for 90 minutes/$260 for 2 hours
note on gratuity: tipping is never expected, but always appreciated. Your presence and return visit for future sessions, referrals, purchase of a gift certificate for a friend, positive reviews on Google, Yelp and social media helps support a small business. I love being able to provide this care for you and taking care of myself is part of what makes it a sustainable, thriving practice.
Note: As of September 2021 and after careful consideration, I have terminated my contracts with Regence Blue Cross Blue Shield, MODA, CHP/Kaiser and Pacific Source. To put it simply, not all insurance is created equal and some insurance companies do not compensate their providers, both in and out of network for their time of service rates. Unfortunately, “insurance” is not always a guarantee of payment for services. My goal as a small business owner and bodyworker has always been to offer trauma-informed, unique, high quality positive touch that meets you where you are.
That being said…I believe that health and a sense of well-being is always a sustainable investment. Integrity is my currency.

**keep in mind that while there are a variety of techniques and tools in massage therapy, the goal is to craft a massage that fits your unique mind, body and spirit. I want you to feel empowered in your care. I am here to answer any questions that you might have and to learn from you, too. I love what I do.
